Whether you found us on your own or you were referred here by your doctor, your evaluation at RIW will help determine if one of our treatment programs is appropriate for you. Our multidisciplinary program evaluations typically involve multiple specialists and the length of the appointment will vary depending on which program you are being assessed for. Please look for your appointment confirmation letter for details specific to your appointment.

On the day of your appointment, please plan your trip to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Whenever possible, we encourage patients to complete their paperwork online in advance, however if you need to complete your forms, please allow extra time before your appointment. It is also important that you bring, if at all possible, a current list of your medications, any x-rays, and or MRI studies that you may have had in either disc or hard film format.

Our specialists are here to help you. Feel free to bring a list of questions, ask for explanations if you do not understand something or if you need something repeated, and let us know any concerns.

We offer free parking in our underground garage, and we are located near several transit lines. You are welcome to bring a support person with you to your appointment, such as a family member or close friend. Some longer appointments may include a break for lunch, We have a lunch room onsite, and many cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood.

You are embarking on a rehabilitation journey, and it is difficult to know what to expect. Most of our programs are scheduled from Monday through Friday, but your day may vary depending on the program and the phase of treatment. Please look for your program confirmation letter for details specific to your program.

On your first day of treatment, please plan your trip to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time to complete your program forms. For most programs, there is a physical therapy component, so we ask that you wear clothing and shoes appropriate for exercise. If you are doing a full day program, you can bring lunch to store in our patient lunchroom (there is a refrigerator and microwave). You may also bring a padlock if you wish to use a locker and reading or hobby material for breaks in your schedule.

Your day will start with an orientation by one of your program clinicians. They will help you understand your schedule, safety practices within the clinic, and expectations for attendance and effort. From there, you will be introduced to your treatment team and your rehabilitation journey will begin. Programs vary in length, but we generally expect to see you daily for 4 – 8 weeks.

While it may seem overwhelming, our team is here to set you up for success. Please contact us at any time with questions or feedback.

Need to Cancel or Reschedule Icon
Need to cancel or reschedule?

We require at least 5 business days to make changes to a scheduled SIMP or BIRP evaluation.

This allows us to offer the spot to another patient who may be waiting to come in. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to cancellation fees of $75 per scheduled provider.

If you are sick or cannot attend due to an emergency, please call our office right away to discuss your situation.
