Speech Language Pathology/ Speech Therapy

RIW’s Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs), or speech therapists, specialize in treatment of cognitive challenges resulting from traumatic brain injury, including concussion.

Following a brain injury, individuals may experience challenges with attention and concentration, memory, processing speed, planning and problem solving, or cognitive endurance. RIW’s SLPs have specialty education and years of experience treating cognition. They are also available to provide treatment for co-occurring disorders including speech, language, swallowing, and behavioral voice disorders.

Due to the return-to-work program’s offered at RIW, the SLPs here also have specific expertise in the return-to-work process and can offer recommendations for accommodations and support planning to ensure a successful reintegration back to work and previous life roles.
